Blame your weight gain on the quarks.

Einstein was after creation, not annihilation. He wanted to know where mass came from. And in his glorious equation an important part of the answer lay revealed: mass comes from energy. After the Big Bang, our universe was filled with intense hot radiation. Magically, that energy turned itself into matter, using m=E/c2, matter that was to later became you and me. Indeed, the equation also applies to you in another way. As you may know, your atoms are made up of protons, neutrons and electrons. And the protons and neutrons in turn are made up of tiny particles called quarks. But here’s the funny thing: the individual quarks themselves weigh almost nothing. So then where does your weight come from? The answer: it comes from the energy of the interacting quarks. It is the quarks’ energy that, through m=E/c2, gives you your mass. Think of quarks the next time you step on a weighing scale.

And ofcourse dont forget to thank them when you’ve lost it, the weight I mean.
